Land School Summer Garden Intern

This paid seasonal position is for someone who is interested in assisting all aspects of the Lake Country Land School vegetable gardens. This will include planting, weeding, and harvesting vegetables and flowers. Work will also include daily animal care, trail work, cooking shared meals, and supporting activities with students and families during summer programming. It may include tractor work: mowing, tilling, and cultivating the fields. 


The Lake Country Land School is 160 acre farm located in Wisconsin, about 45 minutes due east of Stillwater, MN. The Garden Intern would be expected to live onsite during the work week. 


The ideal candidate would show initiative, take direction, work in community as well as spend time on independent projects, and have the ability to lift 30 pounds and spend hours on your feet, bending, and squatting. A driver's license is a plus, but not required. 21 years of age and older. Background check through LCS required. No prior gardening experience necessary.


Work period is Mondays to Fridays, 30-40 hours per week, June 1st to August 31st (with some flexibility available). Occasional Saturday and evening hours.


Compensation: Room, board, and hourly pay ($16/hour)
