Research Center

The Research Center is a resource for students and parents alike! Lake Country students are great researchers, so we call our facility that functions as a library the Research Center to emphasize its place in the school.

The school library has over ten thousand books and offers students literary activities and access to a wide variety of digital resources and databases. The catalog is accessible from our school website, and students may request resources at any time. Students may also check out laptops, tablets, Chromebooks and other audio-visual equipment. In addition, the RC offers a lending library of Montessori and other parenting books for adults. Recommended reading lists on various topics are also available.

For 2021-2022: The brand new Research Center will be opening later in the fall! Stay tuned for announcements regarding expanded hours. During construction, students and families can still access books in the research center by requesting them at school or using our online catalog (link in sidepanel).

We strongly encourage every student to have a local library card in order to access digital databases. For the Hennepin County Library cards application, click here.

The research center is a key component in our commitment of anti bias anti racist pedagogy. We strive to provide resources that, in the words of Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop, are "windows, mirrors and sliding glass doors" for children to see themselves and others.
