Family Connect

Family Connect is Lake Country's parent/caregiver-run group whose mission is to build community amongst LCS families and staff.

What Does Family Connect Do?

Family Connect organizes a number of programs and activities every year. Dates and times for all events are always listed on the school calendar and in the weekly Tuesday Memo newsletter.

Bike/Walk/Roll to School

Family Connect hosts Bike/Walk/Roll to School day once in the fall and once in the spring. After the ride to school, families are enjoy to treats and activities before school begins.

Great Great Gathering New Family Pre-Party

Families who are new to LCS have the opportunity to come to a casual happy hour reception at the school before the annual fundraising party, the Great Great Gathering, officially begins. Meet some people in a smaller setting and get your questions answered before the party starts! 

Room Parents

Family Connect helps to recruit 2-3 Room Parents for each classroom. Room Parents serve as a resource to the classroom teacher, are a friendly face for families who are new to the school, and organize smaller events to build community and connection among families within each classroom. 

Staff Appreciation Snacks

Family Connect regularly coordinates weekly treats for faculty and staff.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Family Connect organizes gifts and special occasions for faculty and staff throughout this celebratory week, including catered lunch and treats, gifts, and notes from the community.

Get Involved

All LCS parents/caregivers are welcome to volunteer with Family Connect! There are periodic, as-needed committee meetings to organize and promote the events listed above. To join Family Connect, please contact Community Engagement Coordinator, Elisabeth Raasch.
