Plant Sale
Supporting Your Gardens and LCS
What is the Lake Country School Plant Sale?
The LCS Plant Sale is a parent-driven fundraiser and community-building event that takes place every spring. All proceeds directly benefit Lake Country School.
What is offered at the Plant Sale?
We source organically grown Land School vegetables, herbs, and flowers planted from seed and cared for by the Land School staff and LCS students throughout the growing cycle. We also offer a variety of plants and flowers native to Minnesota, annuals, perennials, and hanging baskets grown organically by Glacial Ridge.
Where and When does the plant Sale take place?
All plants are delivered to and sold from the Lake Country School parking lot. The next Plant Sale will be Thursday, May 8, and Friday, May 9, 2025.
How do I purchase my plants?
The best way to ensure yourself the widest selection of plants is to place a pre-order through the Plant Sale Marketplace. Pre-orders will take place from early March through the first week of May and will be available for pick-up on the Thursday and Friday of the sale. After all pre-orders are complete, the remaining plants will be available for purchase in person.
Who can buy plants from Lake Country School?
Everyone! In early March, we send a postcard to all current parents, alumni, neighbors, and friends of LCS announcing the sale. We encourage you to spread the word about our Plant Sale to anyone you think might be interested.
How can I get involved?
Volunteer opportunities, from filling pre-orders to unloading plants and organizing the parking lot, are available throughout the week of the sale. Mark your calendars for spring 2025; it’s a fantastic opportunity to do big work with other LCS families.
What Happened at the Last Plant Sale?
We saw an incredible turnout from our community in 2024, with record numbers of Land School herbs, vegetables, flowers, and even straw bales, flying out of the parking lot all week long. The sale raised $25,750 for LCS programming, a 50% increase from 2023, including over 285 pre-orders, 311 in-person shoppers, and 8,638 total plants sold! All leftover unsold plants were donated to three local organizations: Youth Farm, Lyndale Elementary School, and the Native American Community Development Institute. We (and your gardens) thank you for your support.
