Great Great Gathering
Lake Country School Fall Fundraiser
What Is The Great Great Gathering?
It’s our biggest party of the year where the entire community comes together to celebrate all things LCS while supporting the school’s philanthropic goals. It’s a raucous evening full of excellent company, food, and drink with all general proceeds benefiting the LCS Fund. The event is free to attend and there are many ways to support LCS throughout the evening.
When and Where Is The Next Great Great Gathering?
Our next Gathering will be Saturday, October 26, from 5:30-9:00 PM. It will take place in the LCS Gymnasium, which will be transformed into a grandstand of lights and activities.
How Can I Get Involved?
The best way is to simply show up! The Great Great Gathering is open to all current and former families (sans kids), LCS faculty & staff, and alumni (21+). Many volunteer and planning opportunities will also become available as the event gets closer. Finally, you can contribute to the event by participating in the Fund-a-Need, playing the many games that night, or hosting Great Gatherings.
How are "Great Gatherings" different than "The Great Great Gathering"?
The Great Great Gathering is one big event hosted by LCS that the entire community can attend. Great Gatherings are experiences hosted by members of the community. Each event has a set donation “price” to fundraise for the school. Events range from adult-only to whole-family outings, from simple walks or games to elaborate dinners to opportunities to learn new skills. They’re an excellent way to meet new families, try something outside of your comfort zone, or just fill an afternoon. Great Gatherings are a beloved and quirky LCS tradition that we hope you embrace with enthusiasm. You’ll have the opportunity to sign up for the gatherings live at The Great Great Gathering.
What Happened at the Last Great Great Gathering?
The first-ever Fall Great Great Gathering, held on October 14, 2023, was a success, raising over $115,700 for LCS! The night featured 64 Great Gatherings to choose from and 71 silent auction items to bid on, old favorites like the Bottle Pull, Heads or Tails, and the Take-a-Chance raffle for up to $2,000 off of LCS tuition. We'd like to thank all of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, and anyone who came and had a great time helping contribute to this year's event; we couldn't do it without you!
The event was headlined by raising over $58,000 for the Fund-a-Need which kickstarted residential improvements for students and staff at the Land School. We are so grateful for the outpouring of support to help set up success at the Rural Campus for generations to come. Watch the video previewing below.
