Observe a School Day at LCS

Child writing in cursive

We take pride in the fact that almost every family interested in applying to LCS participates in a Tuesday morning observation session before applying.

What caregivers may expect from an observation session:

  • Visit us and observe the primary (age 3 to Kindergarten), lower and upper elementary, and junior high levels of the school.
  • Have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about Lake Country School & Montessori education.
  • Have an immersive experience that will give you an authentic glimpse of what a Montessori education is like for children and adolescents.

September

Sign up to come to an observation session between mid-October through mid-May.

October–May

From mid-October to mid-May, prospective families—without their children—attend observation sessions on Tuesday mornings. Parents/Caregivers visit all levels of the school and have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about Lake Country School. The sign-up for the 2024-25 school year will open in September.

Unless your family is outside of Minnesota or have extenuating circumstances that prevent you from participating in an observation session, all families are expected to sign up before applying.

May-August

From mid-May through August, if there are additional openings at Lake Country School, our admissions team hosts tours of the school for families to attend.

If you'd like a tour of the school, contact Katie Haag at khaag@lakecountryschool.org.

Please note that our application opens early fall prior to the school year for which you are applying. Families applying for the following school year are encouraged to wait to visit our school until mid-October.
