At Lake Country School, students begin learning Spanish in early childhood and switch to French in upper elementary.

This enriching experience offers students linguistic and cultural education, fostering global understanding and appreciation. Interactive lessons, cultural activities, and real-world applications like travel enhance communication skills, language comprehension, and intercultural knowledge of French and Spanish-speaking communities. This bilingual foundation boosts cognitive abilities and prepares students for an interconnected world.

World Language Education

From being exposed to the Spanish language with our Spanish-speaking teaching assistants in the early childhood classrooms, to formal Spanish language lessons at the elementary levels, to dedicated French classes in upper elementary and junior high, students receive learning opportunities in languages other than English throughout their time at Lake Country.

Extracurricular French

French Club meets outside of school hours for third through sixth grade students who are interested in the French language. Club members practice speaking with each other and our French teacher while also learning more about French-speaking cultures and traditions.
