Land School Teacher

Lake Country School seeks a Land School (LS) Teacher who will plan lessons and co-teach programs at our 160-acre rural campus in Dunn County, Wisconsin, that includes a farmstead, forests, fields, ravines and ponds. Programs include four 18-day Farm Stays each year, which are residential programs serving up to 14 Junior High students at a time. Other programs include day and overnight visits by groups of elementary and Junior High students. The Land School Teacher will work directly with students as part of a team, including academic oversight, safety and communication with parents. Responsibilities also include garden harvesting and serving as the Certified Food Manager (CFM) of a small commercial kitchen. Qualified candidates will be welcoming, responsible, flexible, and will love working with a collegial and inspired staff in meeting the needs of students in a busy, fun, and respectful learning, work and play environment.  Montessori teacher training, Middle or High School teaching, or environmental camp counselor experience is preferred. Land School Assistant

Lake Country School seeks a Land School (LS) Assistant to work 40 hours/week for 22 weeks per year (20 hours/week in September) at our 160-acre rural campus in Dunn County, Wisconsin, which includes a farmstead, forests, fields, ravines and ponds. The primary role of the LS Assistant is to work alongside three teachers to support four Farm Stays each year. Farm Stays are 18-day residential Montessori experiences designed for up to 14 Junior High students at a time. The position begins 8/20, with November off, as well as Dec. 20 – February 26 and 1/2 of the month of March. The LS Assistant will work 40 hours/week between the final Farm Stay in April and the end of the school year in mid-June, supporting day and overnight visits by groups of elementary and Junior High students. Qualified candidates will be welcoming, responsible, flexible, and will love working with a collegial and inspired staff in meeting the needs of students in a busy, fun, and respectful learning, work and play environment. Lake Country School relies on a qualified and dedicated group of substitute staff to work with children when regular staff members are sick or attending to professional responsibilities outside the school.
