Land School Summer 2008: Family Programs

Garden Steward/Community Garden

Overnight Visits
If you plan to stay the night at the Land School, there are several options. You can bring your tent and pitch it in one of several perfect spots. You can reserve either the cozy bunkhouse, which sleeps four, or one or more of the Homestead dormitory rooms, which sleep three to four. Please call ahead to check the availability of the Bunkhouse or Homestead. 

Fees:
Camping  $5/night (per family)
Bunkhouse  $15/night (per family)
Homestead  $25/night (per family)

Children’s House & EI Family Camp—Friday, August 8–Sunday, August 10
This year, we will offer our first Family Camp. LCS families (parents and their children ages 3 to 9) are invited to sign up for the weekend of August 8–10, arriving on Friday afternoon and departing midday on Sunday. Food, lodging and program activities for children and adults are included in the price of the camp. Space is limited.

Land School Summer 2008: Student Programs

EII Farm Camp—Tuesday, July 15–Saturday, July 19
This summer, we will offer our first session of Farm Camp. The camp is available to 12 children, ages 10 to 12, who are in or have just completed EII. The cost of the camp covers food and lodging, supervision, programming and transportation to the Land School. (We presume families will want to attend our annual Garlic Festival, which takes place on the final day of camp.) Space is limited.

Fee ........ $400 per student

Junior High Farm Apprenticeship—June through August
We will offer four sessions for apprentices. The apprenticeships are available to 7th- and 8th-graders. Up to four students can attend each session. Apprentices sleep in the Homestead dorms. They are responsible for bringing food for breakfast and dinner, which they can prepare in the Homestead kitchen. A substantial midday meal will be provided. The fee covers the cost of lodging and supervision. The stipend amount is to be determined. Space is limited.
