One test of the correctness of educational procedure is the
happiness of the child.
-Maria Montessori

In this age of education reform, the happiness of the child is often overlooked. Montessori recognized happiness as an important indicator of effective education. She knew that children immersed in meaningful work, making exciting discoveries, and engaged in self-construction are happy children.

At Lake Country School, parents often tell us their children love coming to school. The happiness of Lake Country students comes from Montessori education done right. It is a pedagogy that deeply respects every child, meets children’s developmental needs, and makes for happy, engaged, and
intellectually curious students.

Your gift to the Lake Country School Annual Fund supports an educational philosophy that provides the foundation for students to become happy, productive, and engaged members of their local and global communities. Isn’t that really what education is intended to do?

When you support Lake Country School, you support a model for education that really works; a model that promises a better future for our students and our world. Please give generously to the Lake Country School Annual Fund.

Thank you,

Paulette Zoë
Principal

P.S. “Outcomes” are a popular measure of educational effectiveness. Among Lake Country’s outcomes are our graduates. They are prized and successful in high schools, go on to respected colleges and universities, and their careers and life experiences are richly varied and inspiring. Time and again, our alums tell us that Lake Country School had the greatest educational impact on the persons they’ve become. They’re happy, too!

Lake Country’s mission aims to prepare students for LIFE.
LCS students are often noted for extremely high competence
in an area of specialty. But this is less extraordinary. More
unusual is their generally competence in many, many,
many areas. Expert specialists are impressive, but relatively
common. But Renaissance citizens are in short supply!
